What an AI Keyboard Can See — and What Mojikey Does About It
Any third-party keyboard can see text in the focused field. Security here means knowing that, limiting when text leaves the device, and not pretending the risk is zero.
Why Android shows a warning
When you enable Mojikey, Android says a keyboard can collect all the text you type. That notice is from the system. It is true of Gboard, SwiftKey, and Mojikey alike: the IME sees the current field.
What Mojikey actually does
- Ordinary typing and candidates stay on the device. You can type without an account.
- Text goes to AI only after you tap Reply for, Super talk, or Hello.
- Those requests go through api.mojikey.app to DeepSeek for inference.

What you should not type into AI
Passwords, one-time codes, card numbers, health records, and other people’s data you are not allowed to share. Review model output before you send it. A keyboard cannot stop you from pasting a secret into Super talk — you have to not do that.
Account and device
AI features need a Mojikey account (email code or Google) and a network. You can delete the account in the app or on the account deletion page. Uninstalling the keyboard removes it as an IME after Android refreshes the list.

Is an AI keyboard secure?
It is as secure as its design: Mojikey keeps ordinary typing on device and sends AI text only on tap. That is not the same as “nothing ever leaves the phone.”
Why should I trust a third-party keyboard?
You should read the privacy page and the system warning, then decide. Mojikey does not ask you to ignore Android’s notice.
Does Mojikey store my keystrokes?
Ordinary input is processed on the device. The server is designed not to retain AI prompt text or generated response bodies. Operational logs may exist. See the Privacy Policy.
Can I use Mojikey without AI?
Yes. Typing does not require an account.
What if I installed the wrong app?
Use the Play Store listing for app.mojikey.keyboard or the APK from mojikey.app. Uninstall unknown keyboard apps.
Is this a private keyboard in the on-device-model sense?
Ordinary typing is on-device. AI inference runs online when you tap an action.
