How to Enable an AI Keyboard on Android
Installing the app is not enough. Android requires you to enable a third-party keyboard and confirm the security prompt.
Steps
- Install Mojikey, then open the app and follow onboarding if it is shown.
- Go to system Settings → System → Languages & input. Some devices put this under Settings → Additional settings or search for “keyboard”.
- Open On-screen keyboard (or Manage keyboards) and turn on Mojikey.
- Read the Android warning that keyboards can collect text. That notice is from the system, not a Mojikey pop-up you can skip. Confirm only if you want to proceed.
- Open any text field, tap the keyboard switcher (often a globe or keyboard icon in the navigation bar), and choose Mojikey.
If it does not appear
- Confirm the toggle is on in the keyboard list.
- Force-stop the current app and reopen the field.
- On some skins (Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung), look under Settings → General management → Keyboard list and default.
What enabling does not do
It does not grant microphone or photo access for AI in this release — those features are off. It does not send keystrokes to AI by itself. See privacy and how to use the keyboard.

Why does Android warn me?
Any third-party keyboard can see text in the input field. Android always warns. Mojikey still only sends text to AI after you tap an AI action.
Can I keep Gboard installed?
Yes. Enable both and switch when you want.
Does this work on tablets?
Mojikey targets Android. If the device has a standard IME setting, the same enable flow applies.
I enabled it but AI buttons are missing.
Open a text field with Mojikey selected, and sign in for AI features.
