How to Change the Keyboard on Android
Android can keep several keyboards installed. Changing the current one takes a few taps — you do not need to uninstall Gboard.
Switch while typing
- Open any text field.
- Look for the keyboard switcher: a globe key on some layouts, or a keyboard icon in the navigation bar.
- Choose Mojikey, Gboard, or another enabled IME.
Switch from Settings
Settings → System → Languages & input → On-screen keyboard (wording varies by maker). Enable the keyboards you want, then pick a default if the skin offers one.
Mojikey must already be installed and enabled before it appears in that list.
If Mojikey does not show
The toggle is off, the current app is using a custom input surface, or the phone skin hides the switcher. Samsung, Xiaomi, and Oppo often put the list under General management or Additional settings. Search settings for “keyboard”.

Can I keep Gboard and Mojikey both installed?
Yes. Enable both and switch whenever you want.
Will changing keyboard delete my Gboard history?
No. You are only changing the current input method.
Does Mojikey become default after I select it once?
It stays selected until you switch away. Some devices also have a separate default-keyboard setting.
Can I change keyboard in WhatsApp only?
The system keyboard is device-wide. Switching in WhatsApp switches it for other apps too until you switch back.
Is this the same as enabling a keyboard?
Enable is the permission toggle. Change is picking which enabled keyboard is active.
